FAQ - Resetting Passport York Password or Username

  1. I have forgotten my student number.
  2. I input my student number but I got an error.
  3. I have not set up my security questions or I cannot remember my security questions answers.
  4. I am trying to order a transcript.

1. I have forgotten my student number.

If you have forgotten your York University Student Number you can request it:

  • In-person at Student Client Services in the Bennett Centre for Student Services with government-issued photo id (e.g. passport, drivers
    license, age of majority card etc.). Here is their Web site for hours of operation and location:http://www.yorku.ca/scsweb/
  • Students who are currently enrolled and registered at York must present their identification in person.
  • Students who are not currently enrolled and registered at York may send an email to transcpt@yorku.ca with a legible, scanned attachment of a government-issued photo id (e.g. passport, drivers license, age of majority card etc.). Please ensure your email indicates that you are requesting your student number for a transcript order, along with the answers to the following questions so we can authenticate your identity:
    • Date of birth
    • Your mailing address while you were last at York
    • Your most recent academic program
    • The years you attended York

2. I input my student number but I got an error.

3. I have not set my security questions or I cannot remember my security questions answers.

METHOD 1:
You can go in person to a UIT Service Desk Counter. You must bring your ID:

Option 1
YU-card (issued to active students since Sep 2006)
Option2:
Government Issued photo ID (Driver's license, Passport etc.)
Second piece of ID (doesn't need to be photo ID)

METHOD 2:
In order for us to reset the Passport York password over the phone at 416-736-5800, you will need to provide us with the following information:

  • Your student number
  • York email address or username (if you remember)
  • Your full name
  • Your date of birth
  • Your home mailing address on school record
  • Email address on school record
  • Your phone number of school record
  • Your program of study
  • The last 2 courses you took

ATTENTION: Once your Passport York password has been reset, please update your security questions at:
www.registrar.yorku.ca/
Click on "Change My Profile" under "My Student Records" and then click on "Create or Update my Security Questions".
Once your security questions have been updated, you can reset your password via the security questions. If you ever forget your Passport York login information, you can reset it.

4. I am trying to order a transcript.
